Please note that our providers try to keep their schedules running on time. We ask that patients/guardians arrive 10 minutes prior to the appointment-late arrivals will be rescheduled. Late is 10 minutes or less depending on service.
Our practice is currently taking on new patients from newborn to age 15 years. (see our insurance page as insurance restrictions may apply).
Our providers and staff provide a wide range of medical services and consultations, including telehealth (at the providers discretion for in-state patients). All services and consultations are coded and a claim is sent to the patients insurer. It is the responsibility of the person who presents the child to know the insurance provisions and understand their financial obligations.
Preventative visits for patients are 3-5 days, 1 month, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 months, 2 years, 2 1/2 years, then annually from ages 3 to 21 years. These visits and procedures are recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics Bright Futures (recommendations for preventative pediatric health care). Our practice recommends seeing newborns at 2 weeks of age we feel it is important to monitor growth, feeding, develpment, as well as to address any concerns you may have. The 2 week of age visit is billed as an evaluation and management visit (not well baby/preventative). We recommend that you check with you insurance carrier to see how your specific policy covers preventative visits as well as the procedures associated with visits at every age. Your child’s exam includes measurements, vitals, and developmental/behavioral screenings. Any additional services addressed such as treatment of new or existing health conditions will require a separate code which may result in a copay/co-insurance/deductible from your insurance company.
We understand that your time is valuable; therefore, we will make every effort to see each patient at his/her scheduled time. In return, we ask that our patients arrive 10-15 minutes early for their appointments.
In order to maximize the use of your time, and to maintain the success of our scheduling system, long appointments (such as annual physical exams, routine medication checks) are scheduled at less popular times of the day. This way, we are able to accommodate the greatest number of patients during the more popular times (before and after school or work) while still running on time. We ask you to work with us in helping to make this system work.
By agreeing to longer appointments during school or work hours, we will be able to accommodate emergent and urgent appointments after school or work and still get in and out of the office on time.
Emergencies, urgent visits, and sick visits. When an unexpected illness or emergencies occur, please call our office and speak to a staff member about the problem. These situations will be handled on a priority basis with appointment times and treatments arranged.
We encourage you to make well visits (preventative exams, school, camp or sports) in advance, the non-school hours fill up quickly. We can make preventative exams one year in advance. AS A COURTESY OUR OFFICE SENDS OUT AUTOMATED CALLS, EMAILS, PORTAL MESSAGES AND TEXTS, therefore if you cancel less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment there is a charge of $25.00 per appointment. (it is imperative that you supply our office with the best contact number.) Families that have multiple cancellations will be discharged from our practice.
PLEASE ARRIVE 10-15 MINUTES PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT SO YOU MAY COMPLETE ANY NECESSARY PAPERWORK. WE REQUIRE A COPY YOUR YOUR CHILD'S CURRENT INSURANCE CARD TO BE PRESENTED AT EACH VISIT. (Paperwork can be found on the patient information drop down under patient forms.)
Should you arrive after the start time of your appointment, we may have to reschedule this includes rescheduling to a different provider, facility and/or date and time, (we plan 30 minutes for a typical preventative exam, certain follow ups and acute visits; other visits are 15 minutes), Arriving after the start time of your scheduled appointment will cause our schedule to fall behind. This policy has been put in place so we may run as close to schedule as possible.

As a reminder, anytime you receive medical care, you are expected to pay all current and outstanding balances this may include balances for which you have not yet received a statement. You will be expected to pay all co-pays and a portion of the office visit deductible prior to the day's services.
Our staff and providers make every effort to honor time commitments, we appreciate you doing the same.
Currently to request an appointment we require a telephone call to our practice, requests made via fax may not be addressed on the same day. Requests for ROUTINE appointments left on voicemail or with our answering service will be addressed as soon as possible. IF YOU ARE REQUESTING A SAME DAY URGENT OR EMERGENT APPOINTMENT and DO NOT RECEIVE A CALL BACK WITHIN 90 minutes PLEASE CALL AGAIN. AS ALWAYS IF IT IS A MEDICAL EMERGENCY CALL 911 OR GO TO THE NEAREST MEDICAL CENTER. Then contact our practice after, have the facility forward our office a summary of your visit.
Our office utilizes advice nurses during daytime hours to answer routine medical questions, and Night Nurse Triage Services after office hours for emergent health concerns that cannot wait until regular office hours. Telephone consultations provided by an MD or NP is considered billable. Our phone system has the ability to report on all calls sent from and received to our practice. Any messages left on voicemail are kept on file.
Electronic Health Exchange
Pedicorp imports medical information from other healthcare providers that participate in this information sharing network, your child is automatically opted in, to opt out you will need to complete an opt-out form with CT Health Information Exchange. Our practice coordinates HIE with KONZA, FHIR, Carequality Framework, Commonwell Health Alliance, and CTWiz.
